P.T. Barnum was a thriving American promoter who established the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at 1871.
Born on July 5, 1810, at Bethel, Connecticut, P.T. Barnum became a powerful promoter after moving to New York City. By 1841 to 1868, he conducted the Barnum American Museum, which comprised the”Feejee Mermaid,” General Tom Thumb,” and other oddities.
In 1871, he found the traveling scene that would finally develop into the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
